Software provider Thomson Reuters has developed a custom-built interface enabling Xplan users to access Cleardocs' cloud-based SMSF legal documents.

Xplan users will have the ability to create and store legal documents relating to SMSFs and trusts.

Cleardocs general manager Lisa Galbraith said integrations such as this are becoming increasingly important with “15 per cent of accountants authorised to provide investment advice and [a] growing proportion of accountants seeing financial planning as part of their practice’s role”.

Iress executive product manager for wealth management Aaron Knowles said interface integrations such as this enable “data leverage and time saving to help planners and advisers work more efficiently”.

“This initiative illustrates how the integration of common platforms can save valuable time for financial planning and advisory professionals,” he said.

According to Xplan, the other major benefits of the integration include “improved document accuracy and compliance and a streamlined process for the ordering and establishment of legal documents”.
