Stuart Forsyth has departed from the position of assistant deputy commissioner, superannuation at the ATO and resurfaced at an AMP-aligned SMSF administration business.

An ATO spokesperson has this morning confirmed to SMSF Adviser that Mr Forsyth departed the ATO yesterday.

Also speaking to SMSF Adviser, SuperIQ’s chief executive officer Andrew Bloore confirmed Mr Forsyth will be joining the SuperIQ board on Monday, 1 December.

“It’s something obviously we’ve had some discussions with him on over time,” Mr Bloore said.

“The appointment of Stuart for us was seen as the opportunity to add further technical skills to the business and certainly his reputation in the industry is second to none.

“Him being a recognised person in the industry is obviously very important to us, but most importantly is ensuring that we continue the very high standards that we set for our administrators and having his input into the way that we run the business and drive the business will I think be invaluable.”

***Update*** An earlier version of this article stated Stuart Forsyth resigned from his position. This has since been changed to departed his position.
